Our Philosophy

Our primary purpose is to prepare our students personally, spiritually and intellectually to function effectively in a changing world.

We strive to work with you, with the development of your child being our top concern.

Our mission is to work in partnership with parents to prepare students as lifelong learners who will flourish spiritually, intellectually and personally as responsible Catholic participants in the global society.

We believe diversity is the cornerstone of a strong academic life.

Children from all socioeconomic, religious, racial and cultural backgrounds are warmly welcomed and integral members of Saint Mark's. From the principal, Molly Whinnery, to the pastor, Father Jeff Huard, the administration and teachers believe a diverse student body strengthens the school community by integrating, on a daily basis, the traditional Catholic belief, that we are all members of one family.

We offer an advanced core curriculum and extracurricular opportunities to encourage lifelong learning.

“We chose Saints Mark's over other options because of the small intimate feel, and the passionate and devoted teachers who stress academics in tandem with enhancing my child's character and values.”
-- Alison Circle, parent

Saint Mark's approaches academics with rigor and diligence. The core curriculum focuses on education fundamentals. It also includes specialized Art, Computer, Music and Spanish classes at all grade levels including kindergarten. Principles of social justice and compassion incorporated into the curriculum reflect Saint Mark's affiliation with the Catholic Church. A Marker's learning doesn't stop at the end of the school day. Most students get involved in any number of extracurricular opportunities offered by the school, including intramural and competitive sports, chess club, Scouts, Great Books and Mad Science.

The purpose of academic environment at Saint Mark's is to:

We partner with parents and students with a goal for excellence in all endeavors.

“It is a privilege to be a part of the Saint Mark's School community. The support for our school from the pastor and parish is outstanding, as is the quality and dedication of the teaching staff. Our parents take a very active role in their children's education. The cooperation between home and school is excellent.”
-- Molly Whinnery, Principal

In all our work, the staff and faculty work to instill a pride of self for students, a respect for diversity within our community, and a desire to work for peace and justice in the world community. We believe that the personalized attention from our experienced staff combined with an academic experience enriched by faith, community and technology -- all in an environment that instills individual and cooperative learning, gives students the Saint Mark's advantage.
